Teen Actor Headshots and College Applications

If your teen is applying to college and interested in theater or a performance arts program, chances are they’ll need a headshot. Nowadays colleges and universities not only expect their potential theater majors to audition, but they also want to see a good actor headshot along with their application. College theater programs like Pace University, University of Michigan,  or locally Catholic University and Shepherd University are extremely competitive. Why not get a leg up on that competition by making sure your application headshot meets those guidelines?

The standard industry size for an actor headshot is 8×10 inches. Modern digital cameras size images at 8×12. So as you can see, a little must be taken off the top and bottom of the image for correct sizing. After you’ve made your selection I provide minor retouches and size your image at 8×10 for printing.

You can then upload the image(s) to a printer who specializes in actor headshot reproduction. Here are a few clients have used and recommend:
